Orange County resident Enido Isaac Rumaldo, age 20, of Port Jervis, was charged in Port Jervis on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

According to City of Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden, the investigation into Rumaldo was part of a multi-agency effort by the Orange County District Attorney's Office, the  Orange County Sheriff's Office, and the Orange County Drug Task Force.

Rumaldo was arrested by police officers of the Port Jervis Police after he delivered 2.2 ounces of cocaine to an undercover police officer assigned to the Orange County Drug Task Force in exchange for $4,000, which was recovered from a yard/driveway after officers saw him hide it, Worden said.

Rumaldo was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug [paraphernalia for having a scale and packaging materials commonly used to sell narcotics in the Cadillac he had been driving.

He was also charged other related charges to the cocaine sales, Worden added.

Worden said the City of Middletown Police Department and the town of Wallkill Police also took part in the investigation that used undercover agents who purchased narcotics from Rumaldo in increasing amounts, culminating in the sale of the 2.2 ounces of cocaine.

Rumaldo was arranged on Thursday, Oct. 17, and remanded to Orange County Jail without bail. If convicted, he faces between eight and 20 years in state prison.

“We are committed to continuing our proactive multi-agency approach to identifying those individuals responsible for trafficking narcotics in the tri-state region and holding them legally accountable for their actions to keep our communities safe," Worden said.d
